Aline graduated from NYU with a Bachelors Degree in Art Education and then taught Fine Arts in a NYC junior high school.  Arriving in Connecticut in 1973, she began exploring balance and color through Abstract Expressionism (oil on canvas).  Prior to that time her focus had been pen & ink. In 1975 she accepted the position as Director of Art Therapy at a private psychiatric institute in Portland, CT while completing her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology at Southern CT State University.  Aline was the third Registered Art Therapist as recognized by the American Art Therapy Association.

An artist with many approaches to her works:
Aline Hoffman's Chinese Brush Paintings depict vibrant playful horses; dramatic landscapes, trees and waterfalls; and elegant Sandhill cranes. The two series she is presently working on include: (1) an exploration of leaves & branches utilizing unique color combinations that are either bright and clear or subdued through fog, and, (2) goldfish/koi swimming rhytmically together. Aline's work has been described as "Emotional Realism" based on the feelings her images elicit from viewers.

Check out Aline's Engravings:
